Contractor Questions

The following questions were submitted by in response to RFP: 36C10E18Q0118:

Q1. With 80+ percent of the VAV’s above occupied work spaces (offices, cubicles), will the contractor be responsible to: a. Install and remove dust barriers? and/or Dismantle, store and reinstall desks and cubicles as required to access VAV’s?

Answer: Work stations will not be disassembled however the contractor is responsible for covering and protecting the cubicle from dust and debris. Work area will be free of dust and debris at the completion of the installation.

Q2. Is the contractor responsible to modify existing ductwork to connect to new VAV’s?

Answer: Yes

Q3. Is the contractor responsible to disconnect and reconnect electrical to VAV’s and Electric DuctHeaters?

Answer: Yes

Q4. Is the contractor responsible to disconnect and reconnect Metasys controls and verify operation?

Answer: Yes

Q5. Is the contractor responsible to remove and reinstall ceiling tiles and grid as necessary to replace VAV’s?

Answer: Yes

Q6. Is test and balance required for this scope?

Answer: Yes

Q7. Is the contractor responsible to replace thermostat room sensors in this scope?

Answer: If necessary to achieve full functionality

Q8. During the site visit it was stated that there were as-built drawings available. Can the VA provide as soon as possible to complete the proposal?

Answer: Uploaded as CAD (DWG files, No other file types are available or can be provided.

Q9. Is there an order of precedence or phase of work suggested for the project?

Answer: It would make sense to start on north wing third floor first as this is unoccupied space; then 3d floor east wing. Regardless the VA will need 48hrs notice in advance of where work will be conducted in order to notify the employee(s)

Q10. Please provide “As Built” Drawings for the HVAC systems affected by the task order. If possible both PDF and CAD formats will be useful.

Q11. The notes on the below pages of the SOW contradict each other:

Pages 9 & 10 state 21 boxes to replace.

Page 18 shows 31 to replace

Pages 19 & 20 show 19 which I believe is correct.

Please confirm the quantity we are to bid.

Answer: 19. Please see the excel spreadsheet in the SOW.
