NOTES:

1. GENERAL

This drawing provides details for two HEPA filters (Assy 1 and Assy 2). Both of the filters shall comply with the applicable requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Type 2 as detailed in the following notes.

The Assmbly 2 (A2) filter detailed on Sheet 3 of this drawing is identical to the Assembly 1 (A1) filter detailed on Sheet 2 with the addition of a flange and gaskets.

2. REFERENCED DOCUMENTS

a. ASME AG-1, Code on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment

b. UL 586, Standard for Safety –High Efficiency, Particulate Air Filter Units

3. MATERIALS

a. Materials shall comply with the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article FK-3000.

b. CASING, HANDLE AND FLANGE (Assy 2 only): 14 gauge (0.075”) minimum thick ASTM A240 stainless steel in compliance with the requirements of ASME AG-1, FK-3110.

c. GASKETS (Assy 2 only): 0.25” thick neoprene rubber, ASTM D1056, Type 2, Grade 2C4, 30 to 40 durometer, Shore-A, solid neoprene, 9.75” i.d. x 11.00” o.d. bonded to the upper and lower surface of the flange. gaskets shall be fastened to the flanges using an adhesive complying with the requirements of ASME AG-1, FK-3150.

d. FACEGUARDS: stainless steel 4 x 4 mesh wire fabric in conformance with the requirements of

ASME AG-1, FK-3140.

e. SEPARATORS: corrugated 0.0015” thick min. aluminum in conformance with the requirements of ASME AG-1, FK-3160.

4. DESIGN

a. Filter design shall comply with the applicable requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article

FK-4000. Filter type shall be a Type 2 Axial Flow Circular Filter with Type A Filter pack.

b. Filter Performance Specifications:

i. Rated Airflow: 140 CFM

ii. Maximum Resistance at Rated Flow: 1.3” w.g.

iii. Max Operating Temperature: 200°F

iv. Min Operating Temperature: 10°F

v. Max Relative Humidity: 99%

5. TESTING

a. Filters shall be qualification tested per the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article FK-

5000. Note: This filter may be qualified using an existing FC qualification as a basis in lieu of new qualification testing as noted in ASME AG-1 section FK, Article FK-5200.

b. Each filter manufactured for delivery shall be production tested for resistance to airflow and test aerosol particle penetration in accordance with FK-5210 and FK-5220.

6. FABRICATION

a. Filters shall be fabricated in accordance with the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article FK-6000.

7. PACKAGING, SHIPPING, AND STORAGE

a. Packaging, shipping and storage of the filters shall be in accordance with the requirements of

ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article FK-7000.

8. QUALITY ASSURANCE

a. Quality assurance shall conform to the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK, Article FK-

8000.

b. Certificates of conformance shall be provided stating that the filters conform to all of the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section FK.

9. NAMEPLATES

a. Filter marking and package marking shall conform to the requirements of ASME AG-1, Section

FK, Article FK-9000 including a UL label indicating successful testing per UL 586.

b. Label locations are identified on Sheet 2, View 8C (for Assy 1) and Sheet 3, View 13C (for Assy

2).
