ATTACHMENT (1) FABRICATION DETAILS DOCUMENT NUMBER 2301ZN02
DESCRIPTION: SHIELDING, TUNGSTEN IMPREGNATED POLYMER, PC 2 OF DWG 2370.2-3655.
ORDERING DATA:
A. Fabricated using materials and instructions listed below.
B. Materials: see Tables 1 and 2.
C. Color and Marking Requirements: Shielding product must be non-yellow color. Labeling is not required.
D. QUANTITY: 19 EACH

MATERIAL DESCRIPTION

Tungsten shielding: homogenous matrix of tungsten powder and silicone rubber.
Approximately 90 percent tungsten by weight.

E. Testing for detrimental materials is required. Quantitative test reports shall be provided as evidence that all materials used have been tested in accordance with Appendix A, Section A.6 of MIL-STD-2041 Rev E, Notice 1 Control of Detrimental Materials, and that the materials do not exceed the following limits:

FLUORIDES 250 PPM (LEACHABLE)*
SULFUR 250 PPM (LEACHABLE)*
MERCURY SHALL NOT EXCEED 10 PPM
*At the option of the vendor, total levels of each halogen and sulfur may be determined in lieu of water-leachable levels per MIL-STD-2041 Rev E, Notice 1.
If the materials have been satisfactorily tested within the last four years, a copy of those test reports and a statement by the manufacturer that there has been no changes in the formulation or manufacturing process shall be submitted and is acceptable in lieu of performing additional detrimental material analyses.
F. Shielding shall be clean, well finished and free from foreign matter, cracks, holes, or other defects that may affect appearance or serviceability.
G. Shielding shall be appropriately palletized and packaged to provide adequate protection for shipping and storing.
Each shipping pallet shall have a maximum loaded weight of not more than 3000 pounds. The loaded pallet shall comply with all D.O.T. Safety regulations. Partial shipments are acceptable.
H. Vendor shall provide Certified Test Reports that provide quantitative data to verify that the materials provided meet the requirements of Table (2), Attributes (1) through (3). Test Reports shall be signed and dated by the vendor’s Quality Assurance rep. and shall be traceable to the purchase contract under which the material is provided.
