JUSTIFICATION FOR LIMITED SOURCE/BRAND NAME ($2,500 TO $250K)

The service or material listed on Procurement Requisition (PR) number is sole/limited source and competition/fair opportunity is precluded for reasons indicated below. There are no substitutes available for this material/service.

Diagnose, repair and calibrate the VIT 13. Estimated cost

Specific characteristics of the material or service that limit the availability to a sole/limited source (unique features, function of the item, etc.). Describe in detail why only this suggested source can furnish the requirements to the exclusion of other sources.

VIT-13 is instruments inc proprietary design and manufacture. They do not authorize anyone to calibrate or repair these. If anyone else opens, repairs, calibrates, or removes/tears the warranty void stickers on the unit, then the warranty is void and will not be honored. The estimated dollar value the government would incur if we lost the warranty or had to replace the VIT-13 due to inability to have it calibrated . The VIT- 13 is one of the pieces of test equipment required to be calibrated to provide of
