The contractor shall 1) replace the existing 20-year-old large computer room Simplex Grinnell fire alarm system and 2) upgrade the smaller computer FCI fire alarm systems with matching FCI S-3 addressable fire alarm systems, which matches the building system and can be tied into the system instead of a standalone system and can be monitored by the building as well as FinCEN. All existing field wire will remain, and all field devices will be replaced on a one for one basis. The scope of work is subject to approval by Fairfax County Fire Marshall’s office.

Fire Panels must be tied into the building fire alarm system for sprinkler line flow testing to allow FinCEN capability to bypass the testing of the sprinkler system when repairs or testing is being done so that the panel does not shut down the FinCEN network if there is a flow test, repairs are being made, or the lines are being drained or filled.
