STATEMENT OF WORK

Title: CSF Battery Replacement Requesting Lab: CFST/BCF

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

NIST has multiple computer facilities manages by the computer facilities services team (CFST). One of these computer facilities is the Boulder Computing Facility (BCF), located at the NIST Boulder site. The BCF is equipped with an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) that has battery banks to supply uninterrupted, clean power to customer IT Equipment in the event of a site power loss. The BCF UPS batteries located in 4 battery banks.

Batteries in battery banks need to be replaced on a periodic basis to protect against thermal runaway, a dangerous condition in which a battery can enter a state where it can head up and catch fire and provide for the designed runtimes of the UPS. UPS and required battery details are as follows:

UPS Model: 9395P-600-900-W8 Serial Number: EM452BKK09

Battery Type: VRLA Sealed Battery Brand: EnerSys Battery Model: 16HX550F-FR Quantity: 120

Purpose/Objective: This requirement is to procure and replace all batteries in the

BCF UPS

II. SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall replace provide 120 replacement batteries for the BCF UPS, remove, and replace all installed BCF UPS batteries with he provided replacement batteries, connect the batteries to existing battery monitoring hardware, and perform all calibrations as required by the UPS manufacturer after installing new batteries.
