Text version

Q. Acrolon 218 urethane is better paint then the Acrolon 100 water base and will hold up better. Can we use either?

A. If the contractor could provide a specification sheet on his recommended paint we would certainly be open to a better option.

Q. Does the government intend to do a site visit?

A. The government does not intend to offer a site visit. All the aircraft listed in the solictation are visible using Google Earth, except for the F-86H.

Q. Will the government disclose their Rough Order of Magnitude?

A. It is not the intention of the government to disclose the ROM.

Q. The Appendix C appears to be a blanket document that wasn’t intended to be used for a museum aircraft off of a flightline. 4 & 5. Refer to actions for active aircraft, list DCMA as the authority for contact even though the museum aircraft is on base, and list impoundment procedures per AFI 21-101. Is the intent to treat these museum assets like an active aircraft? Also, 57. refers to AFJI 10-220. This instruction is used for operational or production aircraft that are being maintained by a contractor. It is very in-depth and mandates excessive requirements that are not relevant to the scope of this type of contract. Was that the intent?

A. This is a standard App C for work involving USAF aircraft, active and retired. If you feel this is excessive/unnecessary and contributes to excessive Costs, the you may request a waiver.
