Notice of Intent (Sole Source)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award for the purchase of surveillance data for acute occupational pesticide-related illness from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The anticipated delivery date is 6/15/16. UIC is the only source for the surveillance data on acute occupational pesticide-related illness, which is needed for the SENSOR-Pesticides project. UIC is a bona fide agent of the Illinois Department of Public Health for conducting state-based surveillance of occupational illnesses and injuries and is the only organization permitted to collect and share these data. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12 & FAR Subpart 13 procedures. Interested persons may identify their interest and submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) business days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any quotation/response must be in writing and can be sent via email to the Contract Specialist at BLewis3@cdc.gov by 4pm Eastern Standard Time June 16, 2016. No phone calls will be accepted.
