Portable Office Trailer Purchase - U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) Answers to Vendor Questions Q&As:
Utility connection is requested in the SOW, how far from where the building will sit are the water, sanitary and electrical connection points? The new trailer will be spotted in the exact same location as a temporary trailer currently sits, so the utility connections are already in the areas required.
Does the building need to meet specific wind zone requirements for the region? The trailer shall be blocked, leveled and anchored as usual. If the contractor can strengthen the anchoring to attempt to withstand hurricane-force winds it would be preferred, but CBP understands that this may not be an option with a mobile trailer.
Are local building and or transportation permits applicable? There may be transportation permitting required. It will be the bidders responsibility to investigate this and include all necessary costs in their proposal.
Is the site clear of obstacles and debris for maneuverability and installation? Yes How far is the site from the port? The port of St. John is a mile away from the site. Nevertheless, the Port of St. John is accessible from the Port of St. Thomas and ground transportation is not available between the two ports. The vendor should be responsible for all transportation costs and logistics.
