The KAFB Holiday Tree Lighting marks the opening of the Holiday Season for our families. An inclusive event heralding in warmth, generosity, and neighborly support, kids of all ages enjoy the spectacular lighting of the KAFB Holiday Tree, goodies, crafts, and more while honoring our deployed Service Members and their families.

Santa’s arrival via fire truck is the high point for kids who wait to escort the man of the hour to his thrown just in time to share their deepest wishes, which include thoughts of their mom’s and dad’s over seas.

In keeping with the spirit of support for our active duty members, a Tree for the Troops is dedicated, complete with ornaments designed especially to share with those who are not able to join us. This tree is displayed at the Consolidated Support Building on Kirtland Air Force Base throughout December and early into the New Year.

Last year, we saw over 150 Kirtland Air Force Base members participate in this great event and are looking forward to even more.

You may provide extra support for the event, extending comfort and joy to our families through your participation this Holiday Season. Sponsorship may take the form of monetary support or In Kind that will provide refreshments like cocoa, gingerbread people, make and take craft items such as ornaments, give-a-ways for kids like toys, candy canes, special holiday-themed items, and door prizes for adults.
