UPS Maintenance Statement of Work

INTRODUCTION

Renewal contract for the support and maintenance of Liebert 80kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), Office of Technology and information Services (OTIS).

OBJECTIVE

To support EBSA’s FY 2014 Operating Plan goal to improve the stability and availability of EBSA’s IT services for the national and field offices staff.

BACKGROUND

EBSA is required to service and support EBSA’s existing Liebert 80 KVA uninterruptible power supply (UPS) unit. The UPS unit provides regulated and filtered electrical power for critical computer servers in the EBSA central data center during normal operations. This unit also provides battery back-up electrical power during power outages and filtering to prevent equipment damage during power fluxes and sags/brownouts.

The UPS supports servers that run applications that are critical to the fulfillment of EBSA’s mandate under Title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). It is important to EBSA, to have on call professional service technicians, who can work on high voltage equipment and restore services quickly in the event of an unexpected failure. Equally importance is regular preventative maintenance checks and service, to prevent equipment failure.

SCOPE OF WORK

EBSA requires renewal of parts and labor maintenance coverage for its Liebert 80 KVA UPS (include NPower 65-80 QTY 2 and Sealed Battery QTY 4). This maintenance coverage includes 4 response 24 hours/day, 7 days/week; emergency service labor and travel coverage; parts coverage; two yearly inspections of the UPS and four yearly inspections of the UPS batteries. All labor and materials shall be provided by the contractor.

All replacements will be approved by the EBSA technical representative or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), prior to the actual event.
