QUESTIONS & RESPONSES

RFP #15A00019R00000071 – Barcode Scanner SDK

1. Can you clarify what product you are interested in? As well as the number of devices you are looking for? Any information about the use case would be helpful for us as well.

a. ATF is interested in a software development kit (SDK), Scandit’s brand or equal, which supports native implementation and web-implementation options (Section 4.7 of the SOW, “Requirement 7”). Proposals should address both options.

b. ATF is requesting a proposal for 2,500 – 4,000 devices (one device per user) (Section 5, A.2, L1 of the SF1449, “Instructions to Offerors”).

c. The use case is using barcode scanning software to manage ATF’s evidence, which is tagged with a barcode. The user scans the barcode to document the movement of property to different persons or locations (Sections 2.0 and 3.0 of the SOW, “Background” & “Objective” respectively).

2. How many devices will be using the software? Our licensing and pricing is primarily based on the number of yearly end devices that will be using the software. An active device is considered active once it starts scanning and using our software. It is considered active for as long as it keeps being used. Example: If a device starts scanning and only is used for the first month, it will not be considered an active device after a year of non-use. Then a new device can come on and start being used in its place.

a. ATF is requesting a proposal for 2,500 – 4,000 devices (one device per user) (Section 5, A.2, L1 of the SF1449, “Instructions to Offerors”). Offerors should account for all of these devices being active according to the definition in the above question (#2).

3. Can you also confirm that they want our native SDK and not our SDK for the Web?

a. ATF is interested in an SDK that supports native implementation and web-implementation options (Section 4.7 of the SOW, “Requirement 7”). Proposals should address both options.
