Solicitation Number: 140R8122Q0271 – Geode Seismographs Page 1 of 4

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR

QUOTE. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) in Denver, Colorado and the Acquisition

Operations Branch (AOB) are performing market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of qualified Small Businesses, (i.e., small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, Hub

Zone, serviced-disabled veteran-owned small business) to set aside a Firm Fixed Price Contract.

Reclamation will use responses to this notice to make the appropriate acquisition decision. The contemplated solicitation will be issued in accordance with FAR Part 13 via a written request for quote (RFQ).

Reclamation intends to award a contract to purchase four 24-channel Geode Seismographs with the 64k sample option, manufactured by Geometrics Inc. Per FAR 5.102(a)(6), a brand name justification will be included with the upcoming solicitation.

The system and software module procured will be integrated with existing Geometrics Geode seismographs and related hardware (61-pin Bendix seismic cables, trigger cables, and auxiliary cables), and Multi-Geode Seismodule Controller data acquisition and pre-processing software already owned by Reclamation’s Engineering Geology and Geophysics Group.

Technical Specifications:

BRAND/MODEL:

• 24-channel 64k sample option Geode Seismograph manufactured by Geometrics Inc.

(H): 17.75 cm; Weight: 3.6 kilograms (kg).

o English system: L:10 inches (in) x W:12 in x H: 7 in; Weight: 8 pounds (lb).

• Uses waterproof Bendix 61-pin connector for geophone/seismic cable input.

• Each unit must include the following auxiliary cables:

o GEODE-PC NETWORK INTERFACE BOX (NIB), used to connect one network line of PU/PD Geode(s) to personal computer (PC) controller with at least one 10/100 Network Interface Card (NIC).

o DIGITAL INTERFACE CABLE, to interconnect Geode modules or to connect a Geode to PC controller via NIB. Terminated on each end with one

10-pad connector, coated with kink- and abrasion-resistant yellow jacket, 1-m long, approximately 1 lb (0.5 kg).

o 12-VOLT (V) POWER SUPPLY CABLE, 1-m long with car battery terminal clamp connectors on one end, and 6-pin Geode input power connection on unit-end.
