Current Conditions:
Current compressor and desiccant dryer are not functioning correctly due to current dryer not being able to treat the air and send it to the bags under the gate.
¿ Not sure why the desiccant dryer isn¿t functioning properly, Would it be worth sending a tech to the location to try and troubleshoot and remedy rather than replace?

Dessicant dryer is not the best type of dryer for the application and environment where it is located.
¿ If this is an option please supply Name Plate data on desiccant dryer.
Please see attached pictures (Blue dryer)
¿ Can you tell me if the desiccant on the dryers has ever been changed? Or, has the desiccant dryer ever been serviced? When was it done?
Yes, but oil is plugging the Dessicant and not allowing air to dry correctly
¿ Are you aware that the desiccant dryer achieves a dew point of -40°F. And the refrigerated dryer is only going to achieve a +38°F dew point.
yes, we do not need such specific dew points since it going to air bags for the gates.
¿ If you are using this to do some sort of bagging I would question by installing a refrigerated dryer if this will fix the problem of moisture downstream.
we are requesting a refrigerated dryer, since we have bags to lift the gates.
¿ What are the specifications on the baggers?
What type or quality of air do they demand? Will
+38°F dew point allow them to work properly?
yes, reach out to Obermeyer gates for the specs on the gates.(Pneumatically Actuated Gates |
Obermeyer Hydro, Inc.)
Work Required:
In order for us to quote can you please send some pictures of the desiccant dryer (showing tag with model and serial number) so we can see what we¿re dealing with.
See pictures
¿ Please confirm the power to the desiccant dryer is 230-240V. As normally desiccant dryers come with 115V. With that said if the incoming power is 115V then you will need to have a certified electrician come in and run correct power to the disconnect. Then we could tie into it.
we have 230-240V, which we are requiring the contractor to bring their own certified electrician to make any power adjustments to make
