Miner’s Castle

Q: Will the underground electric from existing lift station to the panel be located?

General:

Q: Is there a preferred staging and trailer location?

Q: Should delays be encountered with obtaining any of the permits, will a contract extension be granted extending the overall duration of 120 days?

Q: Is the National Park Service willing to consider a solution where Phases 1, 2 & 3 are under construction at the same time?

Q: Reference drawing Sheet C8: It references to connect to existing sewer. What material is the existing sewer main? The 4-inch sewer pipe exiting the Headquarters building is ductile iron pipe.

Q: Is it up to the contractor to spot buried propane line? Or will the National Park Service locate prior to The NPS will be able to give general location only. The contractor will be responsible for locating the propane line.

No The existing manhole is very shallow (1-3ft.) and the existing HQ building outside wall is approximately 12-inch thick reinforced concrete with footings at approximately > 8 ft. of depth.

The contractor will be responsible for locating the existing underground electrical line.

The Park's COR will work with the contractor to establish preferred staging and trailer location.

Yes

Additional contractor question:

The plans call for boring to install the runs of sewer pipe in all locations for a less intrusive installation.

Should we price into our bid the cost of possibly encountering rock/granite or is the National Park Service willing to include a rock/granite adder if we encounter such?

Rock excavation is not anticipated on this construction project. Encountering rock would be considered a differing site condition and the contract may be modified to include extra time and compensation.

That will be addressed if it occurs
