Windows, in the SOW window specifications states full frame factory manufactured double hung Marvin Aluminum Clad Ultimate Glider. In the description for the windows they all list using hollow metal frames. These are two different types of windows. The Marvin windows are wood or fiberglass frame vs steel for hollow metal. Which type of window are you wanting?
Government Answer: See correction made on SOW on page 12 under window specifications.
Correction made 4/01/2021.
Windows #11-#13, there were only 3 windows on this side of the building, do you know where the 4th window is located?
Government Answer: See correction made in SOW on page 3 under work consist of. There are only a total of 18 windows. Changes also made on pages 16 through 18 to correct window numbers
Door #1, The existing frame is for a double door, on the back side there is a wall that butts into the other door leaf. Are we replacing the complete double doors and frame? What do we do with the wall on the back side of the door?
Government Answer: See SOW on page 19. It refers to just 1 door being installed back in place.
The double door frame will be removed. The NPS will reframe the double door frame so one door frame can be installed. Contractor will have to work schedule so the NPS will have time to frame opening before single frame is installed back in.
Door #15, #17 Auto Shop, and #18 Wood Shop, these doors have a transom panel above the door, what material do you want to use for the transom panel?
Government Answer: The new transom panel will be wood. Wood will be painted using color to match current color painted Badlands sandstone Color code will be provided. Openings of transom panels are 32”x32”, 32”x32”, and 36”x 30”.
Door #1 calls for a 2668 left hand door which is a 30” x 70 ½’ door typically, you currently have a double door witch they built a wall into the door, whereas only one door works. Do you plan on having someone or having us build a wood wall finished and insert a single right handed or left hand-reverse door. Door #17 has some structural damage next to overhead door which may need to be corrected to insure proper function of door # 17.
Government Answer: See SOW on page 19. It refers to just 1 door being installed back in place. The double door frame will be removed. The NPS will reframe the double door frame so one door frame can be installed. Contractor will have to work schedule so the NPS will have time to frame opening before single frame is installed back in.
#17 The structural damage would need corrected when door is installed back in. Longer bolts to tie back into block may be used. Motar/concreate will need placed back around frame to seal the door into place.
