Recommendation We need a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) with a minimum of three passenger seats with seat belts and is equipped with a roll over protection system. Specifications listed above are minimum requirements needed to haul our equipment safely and efficiently on all terrain types. The Roseburg Fuels program will be utilizing the UTV for wildland fire suppression, prescribed fire operations, and fuels treatments. A UTV will at least 999cc will be needed to haul our equipment up the terrain in our project areas. An independent suspension on the front and rear is needed to get the equipment through our rocky terrain undamaged and to safely transfer passengers. A UTV with a ground clearance of at least 12 inches for the same reasons. This would allow us to move through rocks with less damage to the undercarriage of the UTV. The tilt bed box dimensions of 38x47x11 inches are needed to accommodate the Terra Torch and slip-in water tank with a minimum 1,000lb weight limit on the tilt box so that we do not exceed the GVWs of the UTV.
