Duck Creek Mastication Issuing Office: BLM Nevada State Office Location: BLM Ely District Office Solicitation Number: 140L3920Q0094

Questions and Answers

Q1. In the pinyon/juniper cover, is there a preference for a disc mulcher, over drum?

A1. There is no preference so long as the equipment can meet the mulch specifications within the SOW.

Q2. I see lots of private ownership surrounding the site – local rancher(s) I would assume? Wondering if you guys have a good working relationship with them, and if access is permitted on all roads/two‐tracks into BLM land, if we do not leave the road.

A2. While we may have a good relationship any use (Tracking included) across any landowners’ property will have to coordinated between the selected contractor and the landowner. There is access to the site along roads that are solely on BLM lands, but they are quite a bit longer distance.

Q3. Units 5 and 6 have an operating restriction listed after November 1st but says that work may be allowed pending a signoff. What is the special consideration for those two units?

A3. Wildlife restrictions for winter range is the consideration. BLM will request a waiver from Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) but there is no guarantee that a waiver will be granted. Contractors should plan their schedule accordingly since this waiver is not guaranteed.
