BLM-CO - Mud Springs Campground Improvements - Questions and Answers
Q1: My supplier tells me that there is not enough (361 @ 3¿ and 48 @ 4¿) RED or TAN granite boulders available in the valley at any given time. My questions are: Will the government accept an alternate boulder type/color? And, will the alternate be of the same material, granite?
A1: The Government has contacted a local supplier and he verified that they would be able to supply this quantity with a few weeks notice. We will not accept an alternate type or color of boulder from that specified, except for boulders with a slight greyish tint.

Q2: 1. Is there a ¿buy America¿ requirement for the waterline fittings and the wire rope?
A2: Yes, the buy America requirement applies to all construction material unless you request a waiver and it is approved prior to award. See I.2
FAR 52.225-9 BUY AMERICAN¿CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
(NOV 2021) for details.
Q3: Since clearing & grubbing is incidental to the work and there are no quantities outlined in the project documents, I would assume that the construction should take place so as to not damage/remove any of the aspen trees. Does the government foresee any of the existing aspen trees to be removed?
A3: Yes, it is anticipated that some of the Aspen trees fall within the proposed work areas and will need to be removed. Trees that fall outside of the proposed work areas shall not be removed or damaged.
Q4: Is the contractor responsible for replacing the campsite, the campground and the roadway signs/markers?
A4: No, the contractor is not responsible for replacing the signs/markers after removal. The government shall shall be responsible for the re-installation of those items.
Q5: Does the existing waterline have to be removed?
A5: No, the buried waterline does not need to be removed. Only items associated with the waterline as described in Section 02223, 3.2, C are to be removed.
