F.O.B. DESTINATION
Period of Performance (POP) is Base period with four (4) option periods.
The purpose of Amendment 1 is to answer questions about this requirement.
1. Q: In the event of on-site services are not available, will virtual interpreting services be an accepted replacement?
A: No, we only need in person. The Department of
Interior has a service that provides the deaf employees Real-time captioning (also known as computer-assisted real-time transcription, or
CART), free nationwide telecommunications relay service (TRS), Video relay service (VRS) is a free, Video remote interpreting (VRI) is a fee-based service that uses video conferencing technology.
The employee wants in person communication so there is no miscommunication when the connection drops or in person evaluation reviews, etc.
2. Q: PWS, Section 4.0 states, "In the event of training or meeting that will be more than two
(2) hours, two (2) in-person interpreters will be provided to prove the first interpreter adequate breaks." Industry standard is that any interpreting assignment lasting longer than one and a half (1.5) hours will require two (2) interpreters, depending on the nature of certain assignments. Some other assignments lasting one and a half (1.5) hours or less may also require two (2) service providers, depending on the nature of certain assignments. Will The Bureau of
Land Management (BLM) be amenable to the number of interpreters needed based on the nature of the assignment(s)?
A: Yes, we can change to the industry standard of
1.5 hours of needing 2 interpreters and however many are needed if there is a very long all-day requirement for an interpreter. Please see B08
