Amend 1 Questions and Answers

Q1. Will the BLM allow for aerial spraying of these sites?

A. No aerial spraying-too close to riparian areas.

Q2. Is the contractor expected to cover the entire unit and treat all weeds discovered?

A. Yes, the contractor is expected to spray all weeds in each unit.

Q3. What do the red lines symbolize on the maps provided? They are not detailed in the map legend.

A. Red lines are closed routes, orange lines are open routes. All routes can be used for noxious weed control

Q4. Are all of these units accessible via truck or other wheeled equipment?

A. Almost all areas are accessible by vehicle but some areas may need some backpacking.

Q5. Have these units been logged recently? If so, are there landings and other disturbances within the units? Which units have been recently disturbed?

A. Most of these sites have not been done yet. This would be a pretreatment on most sites.

Q6. The SOW mentions a "complete inventory of all acres" in the description for each unit. How does the BLM define a complete inventory and what level of detail does that entail?

A. Inventoried with no weeds found, if weeds are found, then you would spray and mark with a treatment polygon/point/line.

Q7. Does a 'General Work Plan', as defined in the SOW, need to be supplied along with our bid?

A. No, it can be provided if awarded

Q8. Which units have been treated in recent years?

A. All areas with the exception of Mary_weed_22 have been sprayed at some point in time.

Q9. If any contracts were awarded for treatment of these units in prior years, what amount were they awarded for and in what years?

A. The BLM can’t disclose the price per acre they have paid in the past. We do this type of work every year, but not this exact mix of units. Its different acreage every year. Awards over the years have ranged from around $9,000 to around $100,000.
