140G0322Q0077 – Salient Characteristics

PCMSC requires 18 pressure-based wave gauges for the measurement of tides and waves for an Independent Verification and Validation study of artificial reefs funded by the Department of Defense. The instruments need to be autonomous and be able to collect data on internal batteries and memory for deployment at multiple sites for extended periods of time.

The essential required characteristics are:

A. Ability to measure sea-surface water level through pressure measurements with an accuracy of 0.05% full scale, up to 16Hz

B. Autonomous operation with on-board batteries and memory C. Instrument housing to be less than 2.5 inches in diameter, and 13.5 inches long to fit mounting constraints D. Ability to collect bursts of pressure data at least 17minutes long every hour for over one year on internal batteries provided (that is, no external battery case is necessary to meet this requirement).

E. Software provided for setup, download, and processing of data including the calculation of standard bulk wave statistics.
