Statement of Work: Trash and Recycling Services for Conte Lab
Introduction:
The Conte Anadromous Fish Research Laboratory (CAFRL) has a requirement for a contract to provide trash removal and single-stream recycling services at their facility at 1 Migratory Way, Turners Falls Massachusetts. This contract will cover the placement of two containers on-site and the bi-weekly removal of the contents.
The Facility Operations Specialist at the facility will serve as the Technical Liaison (TL) for this contract.
Background:
CAFRL is a fisheries research laboratory, it is accessed via Migratory Way, a mile-long access road that is a continuation of G Street in the village of Turners Falls, Town of Montague in Franklin County. The trash is a mixture of standard office and kitchen waste, as well as plastic and wood and miscellaneous waste generated by our research activities. There will be no construction debris in the dumpsters. The recycling includes cardboard, paper, cans and bottles and recyclable plastics.
CAFRL follows strict environmental regulations concerning hazardous waste disposal and these containers will not be used for that purpose.
Scope of Work:
The contractor will keep on premises two 8-yard containers, one for trash and one for single-stream recycling. The contractor will establish a schedule to empty the containers every two weeks. Containers must be easily accessed and placed in a way that allows for adequate clearance between them to enable disposal by personnel and snow removal. Containers will be in good condition, no unsightly surfaces will be visible, doors and lids will function properly, they will not have gaps or voids that allow animals from entering or contents to spill out. No sharp or jagged edges will be present. Containers will be sanitized to prevent odors as needed and inspected for damage by drivers. Containers will be replaced as requested by the TL if any of the above conditions are not met.
Applicable Documents:
The contractor and its employees will hold all applicable certification and licensure to perform these services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. All vehicles used in the performance of this contract will be in good working order and carry current inspection stickers. Contractor will provide a written schedule for pickup with five business days of award.
Deliverables: Contractor must provide reliable, consistent service. Any delays in the service schedule will be communicated to the TL by phone or email as soon as possible. Any missed service visits will be made up as soon as possible to the original schedule. Service hours are between 7am and 4pm Monday to Friday. No service will be allowed on weekends or Federal holidays.
