STATEMENT OF WORK
Remove & Replace Generator
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) Crystal River NWR
1502 SE Kings Bay DR, Crystal River, FL 34429
1. Introduction
U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Crystal River NWR, is in need of a new Diesel Fueled 80kw generator and fuel tank at the headquarters building.
2. Scope
The work will consist of removal and replacement of the existing generator and fuel tank.
3. Background The unit is currently unreliable and unsafe to operate. Due to the high estimated cost for repair, a replacement is needed.
4. Deliverables:
(The electrical related work within the following work must be performed by a licensed electrician)
• On site review of the project is required before submitting a proposal.
• Contractor’s proposal shall include calculations to show that proposed generator has the capacity to power the existing required facilities, and is compatible with the existing voltage/phases of the existing disconnects and electrical panels.
• Contractor must provide submittals for approval by FWS before ordering any equipment. New generator must be FWS approved equal to the existing.
• Contractor will remove and dispose of (or trade in) existing generator.
• The contractor will supply and set new equipment in the same location as the existing units and make any necessary coordination’s with local electric company.
• Contractor will reconnect electrical and fuel lines. Installation shall be performed in strict accordance with the latest version of the National Electrical Code, NEMA, UL, NFPA, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Contractor shall clean the area of all excess materials and trash and ensure no safety hazards are left behind.
• Onsite Wildlife Refuge staff is to witness generator testing and commissioning by the manufacturer approved representative, and be provided with training on operation and maintenance of the new system.
• Contractor must provide specification sheets, O&M manual, and details of the product warranty for the new systems.
• Contractor will provide a signed field report that the generator installation has been tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended final testing procedure.
5. Material Specifications:

6. Delivery/Work Site

Work shall be performed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the workweek, Monday thru Friday excluding Federal Holidays. Work shall be coordinated and scheduled at least 48 hours in advance with Timothy Philipps or Joyce Palmer (352)-257-7122, (352)-436-7156. Access to any interior building areas requires refuge escort – check in with Refuge Staff for any escort or before work starts for each day onsite.
7. Period of Performance
Work shall be completed within the required performance periods established from acceptable proposal schedules provided by the contractor at time of quote.

1. Site Inspection:
For Prospective Contractor to inspect the site prior to submitting a quote. The inspection date is scheduled for September 3, 2024, at 9:30am to begin at location: Refuge HQ Building, 1502 SE Kings Bay DR, Crystal River, FL 34429
2. Questions and Quote Submissions:
All questions regarding this SOW must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer, Todd Annes at todd_annes@fws.gov and quote no later than Friday Sept 13th, 2024 4:00pm, EST.
