Requests for Information:
1. Does the Government have a specification for Jutte Matting?
a. Standard 90 lb, 100sy roll similar to generic specification below
2. The plans permit the use of 6” staples and 12” staples, please clarify which should be used.
a. Use 12” staples for securing the matting in the little soil trench at the top of the slope per the detail. The 6” staples could be used for the general stapling down the slope.
3. Probably the most important piece of info would be Access (what size and type of vehicles and equipment can we get within what distance from the installation points)?
a. No size limitations. The project footprint is ~ 100 acres. There will be lots of heavy equipment moving, but there is plenty of room to work and stage vehicles/equipment.
4. Also need to know if all of the silt fence can be installed with a trencher vs. by-hand?
a. Trencher and/or skid steer are acceptable for installation.
5. Please clarify that Seeding IS NOT a part of the scope of work?
a. Seeding IS NOT part of the scope of work. The refuge will be completing the seeding.
