Statement of Work (SOW) for UC Berkeley Federal Work Study Student with Peace Corps West Regional Recruitment Office through UC Berkeley Public Service Center and Career Center
Position: Peace Corps Campus Recruitment Support
Office Background:
· The West Regional Recruitment Office (WRO) of the Peace Corps, is responsible for locating and recruiting qualified individuals to serve as Peace Corps Volunteers in the countries that Peace Corps serves. The office is located in downtown Oakland, California.
· WRO covers the recruiting region of the western half of the United States including; Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, El Paso Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
Description of FWS Duties:
· Assist Regional Recruiter for UC Berkeley to maintain an active Peace Corps presence on campus, to include contributing to overall campus recruiting strategy, planning for campus events, public speaking, tabling, etc.
· Assist in publicizing upcoming events throughout the region by placing information in community calendars, web sites, posting flyers and other avenues
· Assist in maintaining database of community contacts and prospective volunteers
· Maintain the confidentiality of documents and correspondence in sound, confidential, and professional manner
· Perform a variety of other duties as assigned, such as researching campus clubs and organizations, filing information, writing drafts, etc.
Required Qualifications:
· Undergraduate or Graduate FWS students in any major
· Experience with office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Internet, and social marketing
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Experience as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, or interest in/enthusiasm for the Peace Corps, is preferred.
