Scope of work: Obtain equipment for San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School. New technology equipment purchase is being made: Dell Opti-Plex 3060 computers (new entire setup) for the classrooms for all grades, administration, library, counseling, computer labs, special education or special programs, or designated areas for student learning.
San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School is proposing the purchase of the Dell Opti-Plex 3060s to enhance learning of the students, to allow for a teachers to provide lessons, mini individual tasks or learning modules, learning intervention program per student IEPs, engage in creative learning styles general education and special education of the students and delivering quality education with visual or interactive learning for all students. The Dell Opti-Plex 3060 computers would be an investment that will definitely allow students to become more engaged in different ways of learning and seeing the benefits of participation and outcome. The strategy is to have increased learning, increased achievement results in all academic areas and all grades at San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School. In BIE all students have the equal opportunity for learning and No Child Left behind Act allows for education of every student. In addition, students have the ability to have hands on learning with new technology, testing, reading, math and other academic studies focusing on areas which will increase learning knowledge and exposure for current and future education to higher grade levels as they progress to high school entry level requirements.
The Bureau of Indian Education serves as a branch of the State Education Agency (SEA) for several elementary and secondary schools and dormitories serving the students located in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. The scope of work requires professional services to assist the San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School in implementing special education services as authorized under P.L. 108-446; Individualized with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of2004 (IDEIA); No Child Left Behind Act, and 25CFR Indians Education. The purpose of the IDEIA program is to improve academic-achievement of students with disabilities and to introduce strict accountability measures which hold schools, districts, and states responsible for the academic results of student with disabilities and the general education students.
Clientele: San Felipe Pueblo Elementary School serves students grades K through 8. Currently, the school educates approximately 300 students, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. It is anticipated that the needs of the students can be met with upgrading the technology required to advance into the modem equipment which enables students in all grades whether in general education or students with disabilities and their learning needs to be met over a period of nine (9) months in a year - given the opportunity to learn with new strategies and teaching methods by educators to include the use of up-to-date technology to heighten the learning knowledge and scores in all academic areas.
Success Determination: will be measured by the outcome of timely delivery and providing necessary training and/or support of the software/ hardware before school starts for SY 17118 beginning in August and working with the school IT Specialist in working out any discrepancies on the hardware or software for computers.
