About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a Station Battery Replacement project at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The document clarifies installation logistics and requirements for battery replacement work at NIST's National Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) facility.

The installation location has a ground-level entrance with a roll-up door and a 160-foot path to the battery room, which features wide swing doors and conditioned air ventilation. There is no loading dock or elevator access required. The concrete floor is rated for 9,000 lbs forklift use, and NCNR will provide access to pallet jacks and forklift operation assistance. The work will be performed during regular business hours, with no brand name requirements for the batteries. No pre-quote site visit will be conducted, and floor protection is not required due to the smooth concrete surface.
