RFQ: 1333ND22QNB610196
AMENDMENT 0001
The purpose of this amendment is to provide responses to the questions submitted.
QUESTION 1: On level C200, to access the ARM location in the ceiling, can the crane be utilized for access to perform the work?
Response 1: Work from the C200 Overhead Crane platform is prohibited but the C200 Government Scissor Lift may be used for work in C200.
QUESTION 2: On levels C100 and C200 is there a minimum height that the conduit will need to be installed? This will determine the equipment needed to access the work.
Response 2: There is no minimum height requirement for the conduit path to each ARM location, but the conduits must reach each ARM location.
QUESTION 3: Will we be allowed to bring in a scissor lift to perform our work? If so, is there a size/weight limit?
Response 3: Yes, you may provide your own lift. Please note the access path for a lift around the Reactor on the C100 level is 48” wide on the east side and 42” wide on the west side. The C100 floor consists of reinforced concrete and is rated for 1000 psf active load. For work in C200 the C200 Government Scissor Lift may be used.
QUESTION 4: If we cannot bring in our own lift will the NIST lift onsite be available for contractor use?
Response 4: The C200 Government Scissor Lift may be used for work in C200 only. For work in C100 the contractor must supply their own lift and/or work from the C100 Polar Crane platform or other means (e.g., extension ladders).
QUESTION 5: Does the ethernet and shielded twisted pair need to be installed in conduit?
Response 5: The ethernet and shielded twisted pair cables may be routed in conduit and/or existing trays designated for instrument cables.
QUESTION 6: Please advise if the contractor should provide their own electrical lifts for the cable and conduit installation project.
Response 6: The C200 Government Scissor Lift may be used for work in C200 only. For work in C100 the contractor must supply their own lift and/or work from the C100 Polar Crane platform or other means (e.g., extension ladders).
QUESTION 7: In C200, there appears to be a government lift. Will this lift be available for the Contractor to use for both the (C200) 2nd Floor high area, along with high areas on the (C100) 1st Floor?
Response 7: The C200 Government Scissor Lift may be used for work in C200 only. For work in C100 the contractor must supply their own lift and/or work from the C100 Polar Crane platform or other means (e.g., extension ladders).
QUESTION 8: Will the contractor be provided with a laydown area for materials within the building in close proximity to the area of work? Or will materials need to be stored in a remote area or outside container?
Response 8: Materials may be stored within the building in the A-wing basement (B2 level) which is located outside of confinement.
QUESTION 9: How close will the contractor be able to park to the building? If parking is remote, will the contractor be allowed to unload materials and then park in the front parking lot?
Response 9: Contractor will be able to unload materials and then park in the front parking lot.
QUESTION 10: Please confirm the minimum conduit size allowed is ¾” EMT.
Response 10: The minimum conduit size allowed is ¾” EMT.
QUESTION 11: Please confirm the installation of compression steel EMT couplings and connectors is to match existing? This is in lieu of set screw / die cast EMT fittings?
Response 11: Use of compression fittings to match existing installation is required.
QUESTION 12: Along with AHA and Site-Specific Safety Plan, is the Contractor required to supply all product data /submittals for approvals prior to installation?
Response 12: Yes, all product data/submittals must be submitted for approval prior to installation.
QUESTION 13: For providing cable and conduit routing details for COR approval; will the contractor be able to add conduit routes to the Government provided sketches with the bid documents? Or will another format be required?
Response 13: Contractor may provide conduit routes on the government provided sketches included within the solicitation.
QUESTION 14: For the Technical Capability and preparing a work break down schedule; is there a preference to the order / floor locations of work performed?
Response 14: Task 2 should be performed before or concurrent with task 1. Sequence of work is up to contractor but must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer’s Representative to ensure the installation schedule is compatible with the Reactor Operations Schedule.
QUESTION 15: Should CLIN 0001 -Task 1 and CLIN 0002 have separate Schedules or can they be added to the same Schedule?
Response 15: The same schedule is acceptable.
QUESTION 16: Will Payment and Performance bonds be required if either CLIN 0001 or CLIN 0002 proposal amounts exceed $35,000.00 in value?
