PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

Title: Organic Systems Data Capture Lab requesting Service: MML (630), Applied Chemicals & Materials (Div 647)

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Material Measurement Laboratory, Applied Chemicals and Materials Division applies a variety of state-of-the-art technologies to advance fundamental and applied measurement science and technology for thermophysical and thermochemical properties. Areas of work include abstraction and assessment of published properties data in this field (archived in NIST’s internal SOURCE database), value-added data products, assessments of data quality, and predictive technologies, which are broadly applicable in various areas of basic research, product and process design and system development. The Thermodynamics Research Center (TRC) produces periodical compilations and electronic databases that provide source data for scientific research and industrial process design. Subject areas include thermophysical properties and transport properties of pure compounds, binary mixtures, ternary mixtures, and chemical reactions, as well as properties for classes of materials representing particular needs in academia, industry, and government such as clathrate hydrates, and ionic liquids. The goals of TRC are to establish a comprehensive archive of experimental data of well-defined composition and be a comprehensive source of critically evaluated data.
