Text version

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for Electronic Personal Dosimeter (EPD) repairs for 636 Thermo Fisher Scientific Mk2 units. The services provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific will be to provide the necessary repairs to the EPD units to bring them back into working order. The NAICS code is 334516 and the business size is 1,000 employees.

The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Thermo Fisher Scientific. The proposed action is for services to repair 636 Mk2 EPD units that are missing parts or inoperable, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: Thermo Fisher Scientific is the manufacturer of the Mk2 EPDs and is the only company certified/licensed to work on their own products. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Thermo Fisher Scientific using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 08 August 2017. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by 08/08/2017, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
