5. DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK
The Intermountain Aviation Group has a requirement to replace audio control panels on Aircraft N141Z, and N143Z. The Intermountain Aviation Group uses these aircraft to facilitate fire prevention operations.
5.1 SCOPE OF CONTRACT
5.1.1 Scope of Contract: The Contractor shall provide all expertise, labor, supervision, services, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, transportation, licenses, worker personal protective equipment (PPE), and incidentals necessary to perform the required work, for which the desired outcome is in strict accordance with the standards of the contract.
The two aircraft require an audio control system upgrade. DHC6-300 N141Z s/n 803, and N143Z s/n 803. Both aircraft have recently been upgraded with the G-950 avionics package under STC SA03749NY. Both aircraft are configured with 2 TDFM 136 B’s, using the GMA’s in the cockpit, and 1 JA-95 in the aft cabin spotter position.
The systems to be installed will be the DACS by Cobham. Two each ACP53 installed above the pilot and copilot PFD, and one ACP51 replacing the JA-95 in the aft cabin spotter position. The DACS will be installed in conjunction with the Garmin GMA’s incorporating two Vivisun led GMA’DVCS switch lights to select between the GMA, DACS. The GMA’s will stay, and 2 each Vivisun LED switches installed on the instrument panel outboard of the pilot, and copilot GMA’s. They will select either the GMA or the DACS, and should be labeled “GMA or DACS” (white) depending on which is selected. 149Z is set up this way with the G-1000. This would include the addition of an AMU50- 001 and a RM01-001 to maintain presets.
This installation will require some relocation of panel mounted equipment, thus requiring a new instrument panel be built. Also required will be the incorporation of one Vivisun led “Mission Switch”, to disable prop reset aural warning, and bleed air aural/master caution. The vendor will need to order, provide, and install this switch. This Vivisun LED needs to be labeled “MISSION” in white when not selected, and “MISSION” (white) “ACTIVE (amber) when selected. The vendor will be required to prepare the documentation and ensure the aircraft operates properly during switch movement based on the following situations.
The G-950 will give you a “PNU LOW PRESS” cas msg. with an aural warning as well as a master caution annunciation on take-off if the bleed air switch in not selected to the on position. Bleed air is not required for take-off unless you are in icing conditions.
We operate at a high density airport at max gross weight, therefore requiring all available torque. Having the bleed air on reduces engine performance on these hot days.
During cargo drops the aircraft is normally operating at around 500 ft. AGL in the cruise configuration (propellers levers aft). The throttles are constantly being adjusted causing a “RESET PROPS” cas msg. aural warning, and master caution.
These warnings are very distracting during these critical phases of flight, and we would like the aural/master caution (cas message to be unchanged) disabled using a mission switch mounted on the instrument panel only to be used during fire missions.
Awarded contract shall constitute the entire agreement including all terms and conditions applicable to the contract.
