Dozer Tender Command Truck Build (127EAY21Q0011) Q and A Version 1

1. Q: Is it possible to obtain a photograph of the aftermarket skid plate you’re seeking?

A: A picture has been inserted below.

Note: The skid protection is the cages that are in the picture, and they can be fabricated as long as they are at least 1” .095 wall steel tubing with sufficient gauge mounting brackets to prevent them from being ripped off of the mount points and removable to service vehicle components. They need to at a minimum protect the radiator from items being pushed upward into the radiator and protect the DEF tank from crushing damage caused by driving over items such as rocks or tree stumps.

2. Q: Is it required that the vehicle have a multiplex module? Would a standard lighting controller from Whelen such as the CenCom Carbide or CenCom Core models suffice?

A: The selected controller must have the capability of auto dimming when the vehicle headlights come on (either automatically or when the operator turns them on), and can run the take down lights, scene lights, left alley and right alley, we can use a multi-use control head that will also run the siren controls, PA, traffic advisor and light bar functions. When this option is used, it is required that the “emergency master switch” is separate and inline to cut power to the multi-use control head, and mounted on the console face either directly above or to the left side of the controller.

A photo from another vehicle is inserted below for reference. It has additional switches that aren’t pertinent, but shows the emergency master, and serves as an example of a multi-use controller.

The 2 controller models listed above (Whelen and CenCom) in question #2, the end user does not know if they have auto dimming capability, but if they do then they should be sufficient as long as the correct control head with backlit buttons and identification labels is utilized.
