Mariposa Pre-Bid Discussion and Updates 5/17/2022
• We discussed the possibility of timber being Hauled on the 024 road and 665 from 024 to the county road and then to the highway however after checking in with the Timber program this afternoon there will be NO COMMERCIAL HAUL on those roads this year.
• Performance Period – Please confirm this will be 60 days.
• Ditches and brush are to be cut at 3:1 as shown in drawings. If the prism does not allow for the specified surface ditches can be reduced to 2:1. Brush shall be removed from the ditch cross section at a minimum.
• Truck turn arounds can be proposed by the successful bidder but will be subject to COR approval. We found that haul trucks will need to continue approximately 1.5 miles beyond the 735 intersection to turn around for the final portion of 665 or use a turnaround on 735. If the successful contractor chooses to continue on 665 for the turnaround the contract will be authorized to conduct maintenance on the additional segment of road.
• On 735 the concrete ford will need drainage re-established. It will be critical to place aggregate to protect this structure.
• Water drafting locations will be at the hardened ford on 735 and at the main crossing on 024. I expect both locations to hold water all year long as I have never seen either dry.
