12405B24R0006: RFI Ques ons and Answers
1. In execu ng this project, can one superintendent fulfill the supervision, safety, and QAQC roles?
YES
2. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific QA/QC Plan? NO
3. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific Safety Plan? YES
4. Is this project tax exempt? THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS TAX EXWMPT; CONTRACTORS ARE
NOT.
5. There are only 3 servos on the Statement of Work Packet, a 4th servo is required for the FGR.
The system must have all components required for proper opera on. It is the contractor’s responsibility to provide all items necessary to ensure a complete, fully func onal system that meets this requirement.
6. Will we be conver ng the feedwater pumps to con nuous run pumps? All the Nexus water level control components and daughter board are for a con nuous run system. During the site visit, we learned the pumps are on/off pumps. The system must func on as designed and meet all applicable code requirements. It is the contractor’s responsibility to provide all items necessary to ensure a fully func onal system that meets this requirement.
7. The boiler on the le has a Cleaver Brooks water level control system, the one on the right has a McDonnell Miller level control system, the McDonnell Miller will work fine for this applica on. I would suggest replacing the Cleaver Brooks control system with a McDonnell Miller control system. This will have to be completed to be within the code. The complete system must meet code requirements. It is the contractor’s responsibility to provide all items necessary to ensure a fully func onal system that meets this requirement.
