Small Steam Sterilizer
1. Will the “USDA-ARS” be able to receive/unload the crated autoclave from the delivery truck? Or will this be the responsibility of the autoclave vendor, as part of their scope of work?
The vendor will be handling delivery and installation of the equipment.
2. Is a loading dock available for delivery?
No.
3. Is there a forklift on site?
Yes
4. Will the autoclave be installed on the ground level? If not, is an elevator available for transport to its final location?
Ground level.
5. If an elevator is required for transport, can you confirm its door opening size, internal cab dimensions and weight limit?
No elevator is required.
6. Are there any obstacles in the pathway to the autoclave’s final location? Such as stairs, ledges, tight turns, etc.?
Yes, there are some sharp turns, but previous vendors have had no issues installing similar sized pieces of equipment.
7. What is the hallway size in the pathway to the autoclave’s final location?
The autoclave will be placed in the basement of our laboratory building, it has a back door that can will be used for delivery. So, there are no hallways on the way.
8. What is the smallest doorway size in the pathway to the autoclave’s final location?
80 inches tall and 35.5 inches wide
9. Can “house compressed air” (90 PSI minimum) be made available at the autoclave location?
No.
10. Will the “USDA-ARS” supply the appropriate feedwater quality to the autoclave’s integral steam generator? This may require a reverse osmosis system, to reduce “hardness” and “total dissolved solids.” Please confirm the appropriate feedwater quality will be provided, or if the autoclave vendor will need to provide a pre-treatment system, as part of their scope of work? Please also keep in mind that DI (de-ionized) water is too pure and will not be compatible with the specified steam generator.
Please include a Water Conditioning System Package in your quote.
11. Can a dimensioned drawing of the autoclave room be made available? Can room photos be made available, as well? This information would be helpful to have, prior to bidding, to ensure a proper fit, and verify there is adequate space for service access.
