The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) through the Iowa Department of Administrative Services is seeking qualified Respondents capable of providing postmortem forensic anthropological services including assistance with the identification and evaluation of unidentified decedents, human remains and skeletal remains. These services shall be made available for offices with board certified forensic pathologists or board eligible forensic pathologists that are approved by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner (IOSME) to perform medicolegal autopsies in the state of Iowa.

It is advised to "Save Progress" often and especially after uploading documents.

NOTE: Anytime the Respondent opens their bid after the initial submission, they MUST certify and resubmit. No information will be lost from the initial submission.

NOTE: Respondent must approve and resubmit their Proposal after an amendment has been posted by the Issuing Officer. If the Proposal was submitted before the amendment, all information will be saved. The Respondent only needs to read and acknowledge the amendment.

Instructions for Amendments: Answer the newly posted question in the Questions Section, and CERTIFY and SUBMIT your proposal again (if previously submitted).

Contract Term

The term of the contract will begin upon award for an initial term of two (2) years.

The Agency shall have the sole option to renew the contract upon the same or more favorable terms and conditions for up to four (4) annual extensions.

The State of Iowa does not currently have a full time board certified Forensic Anthropologist on staff. The state medical examiners determine the scientifically unbiased cause and manner of death and confirm identification of decedents. To help in this role, state medical examiners use a Forensic Anthropologist to assist with confirming identification of decedents.
