The Food and Drug Administration intends to make a sole source award for an Oxford Nanopore Technologies GridION X5 system. The award will be made to:
Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd 4 Robert Robinson Avenue, Oxford Science Park, Oxford, OX4 xGA, UK In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
FDA requires the purchase of Two (2) Oxford Nanopore Technologies GrinION 5X systems to enable high throughput long-read nucleic acid sequencing to support Next Generation Sequencing analysis of metagenomes. Only one vendor, Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd, offers a deployable long read sequencer capable of sequencing complete bacterial genomes in a single assay run in real time. No vendor offers a similar or better instrument that meets the following specifications:
A) The system utilizes fully closed nanofluidic and microfluidics for sequencing using nanopores and real-time sequencing data generation B) The system provides accurate and reproducible data with flexible content and applications
C) The system provides fully automated protocols that decreases hands on time and minimal processing.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement within 10 days after the publication of this synopsis which shall be considered by the agency. Responses received after 10 days or without the required information may not be considered. For information concerning this acquisition contact:
