Solicitation 1205K318R0004- 1145-1147 Roofing Replacement Amendment 01
Q1: Our company is very interested in this project, meet qualifications, and request a site visit to provide an accurate bid.
A1: There is no scheduled pre-bid conference. However, the site is accessible to conduct your own site visit. If you would like to have a guided visit you can contact Rob Jeter at (360) 497- 1152.
Q2: On page 28 under section 1.6 that Alternative Payment Protections FAR 52.228-13 (JUL 2000) Can you let me know if you are accepting escrow agreements for this contract?
A2: Escrow agreements are not accepted for this project. The accepted forms of alternative payment protections are listed in I.6 (a).
Q3: Description of work states the following (ROOFING) The Cowlitz Valley Ranger District has many structures which have had metal roofs installed. The roofing product used on these structures was Taylor MS150 1-1/2” Mechanical Seam. Although there are many metal roofing suppliers why is the government requested a specified manufacture on this project? Under the Far section 13 Single Source Supplier I don’t believe you meet the requirements I don’t believe this solicitation meet the Justification and approval requirements to specify one specific supplier to use on this contract. Can you please provide some clarification on how you meet the single source supplier?
A3. For clarification purposes, the Government is not requiring a specific manufacturer or brand product be used for the project. What the solicitation provides is information on what the current product is on the structures at the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District. C.1 subpart 1, states the new roof is expected to match the existing roofs. That does not specify or state that it needs to be the same manufacturer or brand. I will amend the solicitation to reflect the clarification.
