Plot combine specifications required Measurements and weight of the basic machine:
length: with header but without row dividers: approx. 16 -17 feet
width: 5.5-5.8 feet
height: less than 10 feet. We do not want a taller combine because we have to harvest on hills and we worry about tipping.
wheel base: 8.2 ft
weight: Max. weight 8100 lbs. meeting all specifications mentioned (incl. cabin, header, weighing system, grain tank, etc.). This is needed as different trailers/trucks could be used and ensures that all equipment available can be used. Furthermore, the less weight the better for safety in hilly grounds
Two-person air-conditioned cab, dust filter, fan, security glass, windshield wipers, interior and exterior lights, two spring mounted adjustable seats for driver and passenger, access to the engine, controls, foot and hand brakes, adjustable steering column (inclination as well as height), hydraulic steering, front screen protection
Engine: 4 cylinder water cooled diesel engine, min 60hp – max 75 hp, min. 241 Nm torque, with rotating dust separator at radiator, meets tier 4 (EPA) or tier 3b (EU) emission standards. Engine location in center of combine, to spread out center of gravity due to trials on hilly ground.
Ground drive: hydrostatic drive with two-speed wheel hub engines, speed from 0 to at least 12 miles per hour, 4-wheel-drive with central, differential lock (foot pedal), front and rear tires.
Threshing drum (cylinder): diameter at least 13.5 inches, width approximately 30 inches, rasp bars with big grinding surface, stepless threshing drum variator, electric drive coupling switch, access to threshing drum, concave adjustment from driver’s seat. Mechanical reverse of threshing drum including necessary key/wrench, threshing drum accessible from cabin
Threshing concave: Must match the above threshing cylinder size
Straw beater: turning drum with loosening elements for good grain separation, Cleaning: double sieve cleaning surface system, hydraulically driven cleaning fan with quick adjustment, maximum speed ≈ 2 000 rpm
Grain transport: pneumatic conveyor system by cyclone blower
Header: cutting width approx. 5.0 ft., hydraulically driven cutting knife with adjustable speed, conveyor belt, unsplit feeding auger, feeding roller, lateral blow-out system of header, at least 4-bars on reel, hydraulic drive reel with variable speed adjustment, manual horizontal adjustment of reel, row dividers (left and right side), crop lifters for picking up lodged crops, floating header with adjustable skid plates, brush bars mounted on the reel, external divider to keep neighbor plots out of plot.
Grain tank: max 160 Gallons for safety as a full grain tank makes machine top heavey which is unsafe in hilly grounds, auger, swiveling, overhead unloading height of 7- 12 feet, easy access to inside of grain tank for cleaning, switch to deliver either to the bagging unit (cyclone) or to the grain tank, grain fill level displayed, sensor of filling level of grain tank, tray system underneath grain tank for total clean out.
Stepladder and platform to access the grain tank and engine, Store samples outside in order to reduce dust. Window in cabin includes throw-out trap to frame for seed sample collecting box outside of cabin. Frame needs to be removable.
Safety features:
Camera system to monitor harvest system, shaker, rear of combine, backing up Emergency stop on the header on outside, Header stops when side door opens, header stops when driver move off of seat.
Grain delivery system components: cyclone, collecting hopper with a flap to adjust sample size from at least 1 to 8 lbs (smaller and larger samples ok), pneumatic transport of the sample into the cyclone, the rest of the plot yield into the grain tank, sample taking sent to assistant in cab, recirculation of unwanted sample quantity into grain tank, compressor for pneumatic flap control and cleaning of the machine.
For ergonomic use ,subsample system must be close to bagging person and a bagging/subsampling system in the back wall of the cabin is not ergonomic and therefore not preffered
Tie Down Rings on front wheels for easy transport
Harvestmaster H2 GrainGuage system with Mirus Harvest software and Panasonic FZ-G1 Toughbook Tablet or equivlant including harvest software for Windows to record plot weight, plot moisture and test weight, docking station in cab for Toughbook, with USB ports, power, ports, Weighing System needs to slide out totally for calibration purposes
Justification for Harvestmaster H2 Grain guage system:
We currently own a combine with this type of harvest grain guage system and need to stay with the same type for compatability.
