Range Pipeline Project

Questions and Answers

May 30, 2018

Q1. Specification Section 202, paragraph 1.1 directs that a pipe-laying machine be used to bury the pipe. Paragraph 1.2 appears to indicate that other methods of burying the pipe are acceptable. Please clarify.

A1. A pipe-laying machine is required to be used where soil conditions permit. If, due to subsurface features, use of a pipe-laying machine is not feasible, then the Contracting Officer may allow other methods in accordance with paragraph 2.2.

Q2. Specification Section 308, paragraph 1.4, A., references drawings for the pressure pit construction.

A2. There are no pressure pit drawings. The contractor is required to submit shop drawings of the precast pressure pit in accordance with paragraph 1.3, Submittals.

Q3. Can you please on bid item#401 gate valve, is that distribution line intersection assembly. In that drawing there are 3 valves and 1 tee, is that all one package because on the bid form it calls out 1 gate valve for that bid item?

A3. At the T intersections going to the stock tanks, there are no curb stops. The drawing on #401 is inaccurate. The lines to the stock tanks are a simple T intersection off the main line.

Q4. How deep is the well? Are well logs available?

A4. Well logs are attached?
