About this file

This statement of work describes a contract opportunity with the National Institutes of Health for the synthesis of small molecule compounds. The contractor will use existing synthetic routes to produce analogs of Repsox and other intermediates provided by NCATS, delivering milligram to gram quantities along with analytical data on a monthly basis over a six-month period of performance. NCATS seeks a contractor with experience in small molecule synthesis to independently synthesize analogs and report progress. Deliverables include electronic progress reports and synthesized compounds for further research by NCATS scientists.

Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs

STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)

(SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Synthesis of repsox analogs and intermediates from multiple projects

Statement of Need and Purpose:

NCATS ETB needs to produce analogs of repsox and intermediates from 2 other ongoing medicinal chemistry campaigns that will be derivatized to produce analogs

Background Information and Objective:

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with a mission to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing, and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions. The Early Translational Branch (ETB) is tasked with identifying and developing novel small molecule leads against a wide spectrum of human disease targets, which it accomplishes by screening thousands of small molecules in collaboration with both intra-and extramural researchers.

In pursuit of this goal, NCATS ETB is producing and optimizing small molecules against a variety of targets and phenotypes. To that end NCATS would like to use existing synthetic schemes at a CRO to produce analogs of Repsox. NCATS would also like to produce several other targets there are amenable to bidirectional derivatization to produce chemically diverse analogs.

Period of Performance:

6 months ARO.

SCOPE OF WORK

General Requirements:

Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities, not otherwise provided by the Government as needed to perform the Statement of Work below:

Specific Requirements:

The contractor will use existing or standard routes to synthesize analogs of repsox or other intermediates. After synthesis they will deliver mg to gram quantity of these compounds to chemists at

NCATS.

Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs

LEVEL OF EFFORT:

Scientist and/or technician with experience in small molecule synthesis.

GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

NCATS will send chemical structures that have already been discussed to provide the quote.

DELIVERY OR DELIVERABLES

Electronic copy of progress reports will be provided monthly. Compounds in mg-g quantities along with analytical purity and identification data such as LCMS and 1H NMR will be delivered on an adhoc basis as synthetic targets are synthesized with adequate purity.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

The contractor will be required to provide periodic progress reports of stage of synthesis and discuss problems and success during project progression.
