1. Can you clarify the expected number of hours or FTE needed for the solicitation? WE will prefer providers able to offer more than 5 shifts a month ie 50 hous a month to more
2. Is this a new requirement? If not, are there incumbents currently providing services? Not a new requirement
3. Can they have Emergency Medicine experience and not be BC/BE in ED? Is BC/BE in IM or FP acceptable? No, we are currently accepting EM trained and boarded physicians or board eligible 3 years out of training.
4. Approximately how many patients per shift? Approximately 130 patients in 24 hours
6. PA/NP help? Yes, they work in the lower acuity area of main ED if enough experience
7. Is coverage 24/7/365? Yes
8. What level Trauma center? Level III
9. Is there ICU coverage? Yes
10. What is the number of patients seen in the ER annually? 31,000
11. What is the acuity level for the ER? Level 1, 2, 3 main ED, Level 4 and 5 ED east
12. Will the ER doctors work 8 hour shifts or more? Are 24 hour shifts required? 10 hours shift
13. For qualifications, should the ER doctor have completed an ER residency to be deemed acceptable? Yes residency and board certification
14. Will the doctors be admitting patients to the medical centers where they are assigned? ED doctors at our facility do not admit
15. Is there a full complement of healthcare providers working in the ER (i.e.: Physicians, NPs, PAs, RNs, EMTs, etc.)? Yes
16. What is the average number of patients seen per hour in the ER? 3
17. Is an electronic or paper charting system used? electronic. It is the same EHR as the VA
18. What level is the ERs? (Level 1,2,3)? Level 3
19. Will the ER physicians be required to ship patients out due to acuity? (i.e. trauma, accidents, etc.)? Yes
20. Are ancillary services readily available? (i.e. radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, etc.)? Yes
21. Will the ER doctors be encountering psych patients? Are mental health specialists readily available? We take care of BHS patients and have some BHS services from morning to 8p, but we do not have inpatient BHS therefore patients get transferred
