Company Profile Assignment
Understand how GovTribe associates an account with a company profile and what to do if the assigned company should change.
Overview
GovTribe can associate your account with a company profile so company-aware areas of the product can point you to the right vendor record. When a company profile is assigned, GovTribe can show the linked company in product navigation, profile shortcuts, and company-aware personalization.
The assignment is based on information GovTribe can match with confidence. If GovTribe cannot find a confident match, the company profile link may not appear.
How it works
GovTribe can assign a company profile from either account setup information or the account email address.
| Match source | How GovTribe uses it |
|---|---|
| UEI from account setup | If you provide a UEI during account setup and GovTribe finds a vendor profile with that UEI, GovTribe can associate your account with that profile. |
| Exact vendor contact email | GovTribe looks for a vendor contact email that exactly matches the account email address. |
| Business email domain | If there is no exact contact email match, GovTribe can look for vendor contacts that share the same business email domain as the account email address. |
When more than one vendor profile matches the same business email domain, GovTribe chooses the profile that appears most likely based on federal award activity.
What affects this
Several conditions can change whether GovTribe assigns a company profile automatically.
| Condition | What can happen |
|---|---|
| Broad public or personal email domains | GovTribe avoids matching common public, personal, and consumer email domains because they are not reliable company identifiers. |
| Government, military, or education domains | GovTribe avoids matching .gov, .mil, and .edu domains to vendor profiles by email domain. |
| No confident vendor contact match | GovTribe may leave the account without an assigned company profile. |
| Existing company assignment | GovTribe does not replace an existing company assignment through the automatic email-domain matching process. |
| GovTribe AI personalization | Company profile assignment does not by itself turn on AI personalization. GovTribe AI can use the assigned company as employer context only when GovTribe Data is active in Personalization. |
What customers can do
Contact help@govtribe.com if your company assignment is missing, incorrect, or needs to be changed. Include the company name and UEI when you know them so GovTribe support can review the right vendor profile.

| Capture dashboard | Shows the assigned company name and logo at the top of the dashboard and lets you open View My Company Profile from Select Company Settings. |
| GovTribe AI | When GovTribe Data is active in Personalization, GovTribe AI can use the assigned company profile as employer context for chats, the daily briefing, and Recommended prompts. This helps GovTribe AI account for relevant company profile details when they matter to the response. |
Company profile assignment does not control whether GovTribe AI can use your activity or profile data. Use Personalization to manage GovTribe Data access.
