The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency awarded a single-award Indefinite Delivery Contract to the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety to provide criminal record history information services. The contract value is $56,730 with an ordering period through September 2022. No set-aside was used in the award, which was originally issued by the National Background Investigations Bureau under a different contract number but was transferred to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency in 2019. Through its Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety will leverage its access to New Jersey's criminal records to fulfill task orders placed by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency for background screening and vetting services in support of the agency's counterintelligence and security missions. As the designated State Administering Agency for New Jersey, the Department of Law and Public Safety routinely provides criminal history data to authorized entities and is well positioned to efficiently meet the needs outlined in this contract through September 2022. The State of New Jersey acts as the prime recipient, having received over $170 million from the Department of Education to fund pandemic response programs across both K-12 and higher education systems. Major subrecipients include school districts, private schools, Rutgers University, Rowan University and county college systems. Funding supports COVID-19 related services including technology, operations and recovery efforts to stabilize education and ensure continuity of learning throughout the state during the ongoing public health emergency.
