The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center awarded a single-award, indefinite delivery contract valued at up to $3.6 million to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to provide overhaul services for the HH-60G helicopter transmission. Three firm fixed price delivery orders have been issued against the contract to date for transmission overhaul work in Stratford, Connecticut.
The first delivery order, valued at $1.5 million with a period of performance from August 2023 through August 2024, is for overhaul of the HH-60G transmission. A second order awarded in May 2022 is worth $1.8 million and runs through May 2023 for the same services. Subcontractor Schaeffler Aerospace Canada Inc. will supply aircraft parts and services to Sikorsky for the second order. The original January 2022 pre-solicitation sought overhaul services for the HH-60G transmission, NSN 1615-01-542-7514GC, in support of the helicopter program.
The contracted overhaul work is aimed at maintaining the operational capability of transmissions for the HH-60G, a combat search and rescue helicopter flown by the U.S. Air Force. Sikorsky, located in Stratford, Connecticut, is the prime contractor leveraging its expertise in helicopter maintenance to provide the ordered transmission services.
