The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command awarded a single-award Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) to RTX Corporation's Pratt & Whitney division for the F117 Engine Sustainment Services (F117 ESS) program. The $8.2 billion IDC, awarded on October 1, 2017, provides a vehicle for the Air Force to issue firm fixed-price delivery orders to Pratt & Whitney for the sustainment, repair, and logistics support of the F117 engines that power the C-17 Globemaster III strategic airlift aircraft.
Several delivery orders have been issued under this IDC, ranging from $28.9 million to $955.8 million in ceiling value, with periods of performance through September 2027. The work is performed at Pratt & Whitney's facilities in Hartford, Connecticut. As a major aircraft engine manufacturer and defense contractor, Pratt & Whitney has extensive experience providing engines, components, and sustainment services to the U.S. Department of Defense, including the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Defense Logistics Agency. This IDC and associated delivery orders enable the Air Force to efficiently manage the lifecycle support of the F117 engine fleet to ensure the continued operational readiness of the C-17 aircraft.
