The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) received a $458,007 Project Grant award from the National Endowment for the Humanities to develop the "My Mississippi: Virtual Visits and Shared Storytelling" program. Funded under the Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development CFDA program, MDAH will create a series of behind-the-scenes virtual tours for the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. The tours will allow students and the public to digitally visit archaeology and conservation labs, as well as the collections storage facilities. By enhancing the online experience, the program aims to continue fulfilling MDAH's mission of educating visitors on Mississippi's history despite pandemic-related museum closures. No subawards are planned under this October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 award.
