The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs awarded a $198,365 Project Grant to the Fundacion Centro Cultural Colombo Americano De Cali (Centro Cultural Colombo Americano De Cali) to expand the College Horizons Outreach Program (CHOP) in Colombia. The CHOP program provides high-quality English instruction, mentoring, academic advising, and workshops on U.S. culture and values to high-achieving Afro-Colombian students. This award, made under the Public Diplomacy Programs (CFDA 19.040) grant, will enable the organization to further develop and expand the CHOP initiative within the Cali region and the Buga area of Colombia. The project has a performance period from September 2024 to October 2026, supporting the U.S. government's efforts to strengthen educational and cultural exchange between the United States and Colombia.
