This $399,990 project grant from the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513) will fund capital transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities in small urban areas of South Carolina. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will use $358,372 in federal funds and $41,618 in local match to purchase vehicle replacement and expansion services from subrecipients Beaufort County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Sumter County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, and York County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. SCDOT will also retain $143,372 for state administration of the program. The funding will allow subrecipients to maintain existing transportation services and SCDOT to continue providing mobility options for seniors and individuals with disabilities across small urban areas of the state from March 2022 to March 2030.
